I took my brand new Savage to the Sturgis rally in 1987 and had a great time. Lots of comments like, "I didn't know Harley made a single." and "Where's the other half of your engine?"
Of course that was before the flood of Japanese 'clones' trying to be Harleys. The Savage is more in the spirit of HD than any of the 'clones'.
If you come to the rally you will see hundreds of thousands of bikes. Mostly Harleys, but you'll also see HondaSuzukiKawasakiYamaha's. If you see a fat old man on a black '90 HD Super Glide riding with a fat old woman on a canary yellow '96 Savage, wave. It's my wife and me. (Don't tell her I said she's fat or I won't survive long enough to attend the rally.)
